1. McCormick Park Gazebo Marker
Inscription.
In the early 1900s, this Gazebo stood in the intersection of Grand River and Putnam. Positioned on posts, it stood above the street, over a water trough for passing horses. Its position made it a platform for speeches, concerts, and civic gatherings.

As the automobile era emerged, the gazebo was moved to a local residence, and in the 1930s, to the "new" park along the Red Cedar River.

Painted many times, it was last worked in 2000, as part of a community service project. In 2010, it was moved to its present location as part of the McCormick Park Renovation Project. In 2011, the Gazebo was restored and painted to its current condition by volunteers funded by the Williamston Sunrise Rotary Club.

Erected by Williamston Sunrise Rotary Club.
