World War II Monument. Object, 1947. Contributing. 200 Block North Jefferson Street - East Side. A bronze tablet set in stone reads, “Dedicated to the memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice and in honor of those who served in the armed forces of our country in World War II and all other wars erected by Converse Lions Club May 30, 1947.” The monument was originally created by the Converse Lion’s Club to honor those who served in World War II. A smaller bronze plaque, reading “and all other wars,” was added at a later unknown date.
