Excerpt (in translation): The Santiago bridge was built in 1852, replacing another that was swept away by the rise of the river.(Submitted on October 10, 2023.)
It unites the place of A Trabanca, an area of original neighborhoods, where the Convent and the Fuente del Carmen are located, with the old center of Padrón. Also on the same street, we can go up the stairs that lead to Mount San Gregorio, known as Monte de Santiaguiño.
At its opposite end, next to the church of Santiago, was the Moucha tower until the 19th century, so called because of the sorry state in which the Irmandiña revolt left it in the 15th century (1476).
