Pete, a Fire Direction Control Technician, spent the last day of the war in the DALE with his OMM Howitzer artillery unit before pulling back toward Pan when hostilities ended. He vividly remembered Korean children spitting on and throwing rocks and bricks at the Americans as they infiltrated due to the fact that the agreed upon DMZ separating the new North and South Korea also separated entire families.
