Revolutionary War

Michael Dodson - Born Sept. 6, 1751. Enlisted July 20, 1776 at Taneytown, Md.
in Capt. Good's company, also served in 1777 in Capt. Lansdale's company.
Battles of Brandwine, Germantown, and White Plains.

Thomas Dodson - Born May 11, 1741. Records unavailable.

Nicholas McGuire - Born 1753 in Freedom Township.
Veteran, service records not available.
Inscription on head stone, "He served his country in
Revolutionary War and died esteemed by his neighbors."

Jacob Schmitt, Sr. - Born 1750. Private in Capt. William Clark's
company of Rangers, Bedford County Militia. Died 1797.

Civil War

Jacob Helsel - Private, 55th Pa. Vol. Inf. Captured at Battle of Wilderness, Sept. 18, 1864.
Died of starvation at Andersonville Prison, Georgia, 1864.

Martin Nofsker - Private, Co. I, 55 Pa. Vol. Inf. Captured at Durry [sic - Drewry's] Bluff, Va.,
May 16, 1864. Died Millen, Ga. of starvation.

Samuel H. Smith - Private, Co. I, 55th Pa. Vol. Inf. Captured at the Battle of Petersburg, Va., June 15, 1864.
Died of starvation at Libby Prison, Richmond, Va., 1864.
