An infantryman, Den first drove trucks with the 264th Transportation Division. However, as an infantryman qualified with M1 rifle and 45 caliber pistol he was assigned to the infantry for the fight along the 30th parallel where they looked directly into Manchuria. Once back stateside, Don was assigned MP duties at Ft. Eustis until his discharge.
