A B-24 Liberator Aerial Top Turret Gunner, Sergeant Daniels and crew were forced down in France behind German lines on their 11th mission. Carl was reported MIA on August 12th 1944 and later confirmed as KIA. Originally interred in France, his remains were ultimately returned to Sidney, NY In May 1948 where he was buried with full military honors.
