1. Edmundson House Marker
Inscription. Built in 1912, the Edmundson House was designed as a residence for Illinois natives John and Isabinda (Merriss) Edmondson. In 1920, the trustees of the Houston District of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, purchased the home. From 1920 to 1943, it was used as a parsonage for presiding elders and district superintendents. The two-story house is of frame construction on a raised brick pier and beam foundation. The main form of the house is American foursquare style, while the wraparound porch with a low hipped roof is more typical of praire style architecture.
