1. Artemisia absinthium Marker
Inscription. Wormwood is a main ingredient in the controversial liqueur absinthe, which was banned for many years because of its supposed mind-altering effects. This reputation was attributed to thujone, a chemical found in wormwood, but original absinthe samples have been found to contain only minute amounts.
