Inscription.

Commonly referred to as the "LOACH" these aircraft
were used as part of Hunter-killer teams with Cobra
or Huey gunships. This aircraft served with the
7th and 3rd Squadrons of the 17th [Cavalry]
in Vietnam from 1969 through 1972.

GROSS WEIGHT: 2700 LBS.

More about this marker. Tobyhanna Army Depot requires approved ID for entrance, and NO photography is allowed without prior approval from the depot commander. The contributor contacted Public Affairs, which had previously taken the photos, had them reviewed and approved, and then provided them to the contributor electronically. The contributor, being retired military, has been to the Depot and passed all of the markers along the entrance drive (but could not take photos). Thanks to Depot Public Affairs for providing the photographs, which highlight the important work the depot and US Army does for America.
