Inscription.

featuring a photo of the 'trestle bridge' over the Saline River in 1900 (facing South). The bridge was torn down in 1936 by automobile manufacturer Henry Ford, so he could construct a reservoir and dam, by diverting the current river to a new channel. The current City Hall is where the electric generator was housed. The house in the background is still standing and has not changed much 80 years. A dedication was held on July 23, 1937 for the new Saline River Bridge.
