Inscription. It was originally believed that Lily Hill House was built sometime between 1849 and the early 1850s as 'a moderately sized gentleman's residence’.

However letters were discovered from Henry William Vincent (who owned the estate between 1833-1865) to his friend Ralph Sneyd which were written in June 1839. In one letter Henry William Vincent states he had been staying in the property for the last six weeks as his tenants of the previous four years had left the house "in so wretched a condition as that he found it absolutely necessary to tidy up".

An Ordnance Survey map dated 1816 marks Lily Hill as a place, but no house is evident. On the Enclosure map of Warfield dated 1817, a large house is detailed. It is therefore assumed that Lily Hill House was actually built in 1817 by Henry Dormer Vincent (Henry William Vincent's father). Today the house is privately owned and used for office space.

Bracknell Development Corporation purchased the land in 1955. This was part of a national scheme for new town development, to house those displaced from the bombings in London during the Second World War.
