After Basic Training, Dick was transferred to Red Stone Arsenal where he served in the 2nd Missile Command as a Clerk-Typist. He was later transferred to Headquarters, I Corps, 8th Army at Camp Red Cloud in Korea where he was in charge of the G-4 security cage until his transfer to the Army Personnel Center at Oakland for discharge.
