the Saginaw & Manistee Lumber Co. built the structure as a bunkhouse and supervisor's office in 1893. The Negrette family bought the property for $810 in 1919 and made some changes to the house, including adding the distinctive stonework. The house was in the Negrette family until 2012; two years later, it was listed on the National Register. Better-known among locals as The Yellow House, it is now a vacation rental.

Also see . . .  Yellow House listed as national historic place. The Yellow House in Williams is somewhat of a local landmark, but few people likely know the history behind the property.
