1. The First Steel Water Tower in Pella Marker
Inscription. The first steel water tower in Pella was erected on this site in 1921. With a capacity of 200,000 gallons, the water tower was topped with this ornamental ball. It now rests on one of the original foundation piers, which also serves as one of the first topographical survey benchmarks in Pella. The pier was preserved to maintain this historical survey marker.
