A Browning Automatic Rifleman, Robert served and fought in the South Pacific and was wounded in action on 10 May 1945 at Balete Pass during the Battle of Luzon in the Philippine Islands.

Inducted 28 July 1944, Binghamton, NY
Honorably Discharged 23 December 1945, Rhoads General Hospital, Utica, NY
