A B-24 bomber pilot, Harry new 40 combat missions, 20 as co-pilot and 20 as pilot. His missions included mining enemy harbors, harassing shipping and airfields; and, be participated in the "softening up process for the Iwo Jima invasion. His squadron was credited with cutting 95% of the shipping in Chichi Jima harbors preventing additional Japanese supplies from reaching Iwo Jima He flew a total of 1,150 hours, 447 of which were in combat.
Enlisted 3 November 1943, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Discharged 1 November 1945, Fort Dix, NJ
