Main Museum Building. Big Bear Valley Historical Museum. This building was built by Guy Maltby of Big Bear Valley Milling and Lumber Company in 1927-1928. It was the original community market in Big Bear City, and was sold to Frank and Freda Jakobi who lived upstairs. It was replaced in 1936 with todays community market which was owned by the Barnes family and located on the corner of Greenway and Big Bear Blvd. Back then, a single gas pump was located in front of the building. In 1976 the building was moved to this location and officially opened as a museum on June 12, 1982.
This building was built by Guy Maltby of
