1. Museum Building Marker
Inscription. This building was built by Guy Maltby of Big Bear Valley Milling & Lumber Company in 1927-1928. It was the original community market in Big Bear City, & was sold to Frank & Freda Jakobi who lived upstairs. It was replaced in 1936 with todays community market which was owned by the Barnes family & located on the corner of Greenway & Big Bear Blvd. Back then, a single gas pump was located in front of the building. In 1976 the building was moved to this location and officially opened as a museum on June 12, 1982.
