Private First Class, U. S. Army - World War II
"A" Company, 145th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Division

A Rifleman, Floyd fought in some of the most iconic battles of the war in the Southern Pacific. He fought to destroy the enemy and to assist in capturing and holding enemy positions. Wounded-in- Action during fighting on the island of Luzon in the Philippines on 3 March 1945, he also fought in the battles at Guadalcanal, New Caledonia, and Bougainville.

Inducted 26 March 1943 at Binghamton, NY - Honorably Discharged 6 June 1946, Fort Knox, KY
