Immediately after Basic, Jim was deployed to Cam Ranh Bay, RVN where he served as a refrigeration specialist on a refrigerated barge where food supplies were transferred from ships and stored until needed. After his year tour in-country he was transferred to Ft. Bragg where he served as Motor Pool and Assistant Supply Sergeant until his discharge.
