Triay House. . This reconstruction was built on original foundations, which date from the middle of the 1700s, when the house belonged to Pedro de Florencia. During the British Period (1763-1784) the property was held in trust by Jesse Fish, an agent for the sale of the properties of former Spanish residents. Upon Florida's return to Spanish rule in 1784, Master Armorer Juan San Salvado bought the property and quickly sold it to Francisco Triay, a Minorcan settler who had arrived in St. Augustine in 1777. The house remained in the Triay family for more than 60 years. Many descendants of the Triay family continue to live in St. Augustine today.
