Palace of King Agonglo
Le Roi Agonglo (1789-1797) s'attelait au bien être de la population par une série de réformes. Il changea le système des impôts, renforça le culte vodoun et appuyait les arts, réorganisa la structure des métiers d'art. Pendant son règne les décorations dessinées sur les murs et piliers des palais se changeaient en bas reliefs, qui complètaient le langage tambourine, les chants codifiés et les appliqués sur tissus. Il aimait la musique. Il ouvrit le Royaume aux missionnaires chrétiens et musulmans. Il entreprenait quelques sorties guerrières en direction de ses voisins, les Mahis et les Ouéménous.

Palace of King Agonglo
King Agonglo (1789-1797) was concerned with the well-being of the city. Through a series of reforms he changed the system of taxes, strengthened the Vodoun (voodoo) cult and supported the arts, reorganizing the structure of the arts and crafts. During his reign decorations drawn on the walls and pillars of the palaces are changed into bas-reliefs, which complemented the drummed language, codified songs and applied them to fabrics. He loved music. He opened the Kingdom to Christian and Muslim missionaries. He undertook a few warlike sorties against the neighboring groups of the Mahis and the Ouéménous.
