Inscription.
Among the many business types found in a timber town of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, few contributed more to the legends that defined their often-rowdy reputations than saloons. However, establishments like Verzi's (right), which stood where an apparel print shop stands today, also reflected more complex stories, including those of businesses started by immigrants from places like Italy, passed down through generations to new owners and surviving long enough to operate several decades into the tourism era. By the time of 1930s interior view (below), Verzi's had become Twigg's.
