Inscription.
B.H.S. Water Tower. . The water tower was originally built in 1933 and was located at Bakersfield High School on the corner of 14th and C streets. The tower was built to provide water to the campus independent of the city’s water supply and had access to four wells that each provided 450 gallons of water per minute. Towering at 60 feet high, the water tower quickly became a source of pride for B.H.S. Drillers. Its signature “Driller Pride” murals could be seen hovering high above the surrounding campus and community long after the school ended its use as a water source.
