Excerpt (in translation): Victoriano García Martí (Puebla del Caramiñal, 1881-Santiago de Compostela, July 7, 1966) was a Spanish writer, lawyer, sociologist and essayist.(Submitted on December 10, 2023.)
He studied Law in Santiago de Compostela and completed his doctorate in Madrid. In 1911, as a pensioner from the Board for the Expansion of Scientific Studies and Research, he studied sociology at the Sorbonne University in Paris with Durkheim and Bergson.
His life was entirely dedicated to the cultivation of letters. He successfully cultivated all literary genres. He stood out, however, as an essayist, a field in which he achieved great prominence.
In 1965 he was appointed corresponding member of the Royal Spanish Academy. He was also a correspondingmember of the Royal Galician Academy.
He died in Santiago de Compostela on July 7, 1966.
