Excerpt (in translation): The liberation of our country by the Allies began in Mesch, South Limburg, on September 12, 1944. Units of the 30th American Division then set foot on Dutch soil from Belgium. To commemorate this, the Mesch Liberation Committee organizes an annual commemoration. As in previous years, the Veterans Network FNV was also involved in the organization of the last edition. In memory of chairman and AFMP honorary member John Knottenbelt, who passed away in early 2023 and who was part of the committee, a permanent plaque was unveiled at the Veterans Field.
