2nd Leg Command After Advanced Infantry Training Walt was assigned to administrative positions and served with several commands in Korea, first as Morning Report Sergeant with the 54th Quartermaster Battalion; and later, as Acting Section Sergeant Major, 2nd Logistics Command. Steaming for home on the USNS General Wm. Weigel (AP-119) was his happiest wartime memory.
