After completing Basic, Basic Engineering, Diesel and Amphibious Training, Loule served aboard the attack transport, USS Charles Carroll, carrying elements of the 1st Marines to the Hagushi beaches for the fierce invasion of Okinawa. For 4 days they faced on the many kamikaze attacks which began to sketch the bloody pattern of the operation. Once the landings concluded, the ship returned to Pearl Harbor via Saipan, where she embarked passengers for San Francisco. After the war, Louie made his way to San Diego and on to Lido Beach, LI, NY, where he was discharged.
