Entered the U.S. Army as Infantry Officer of U.S. Army Combat
Development Command 1971
SERVICE
Army School Commander for "C" Company 4th Battalion, 5th Infantry
1989 Commander for 4th Battalion 16th Infantry
1st Infantry Division Desert Shield/Storm
2004 - 33rd Commanding General of U.S. First Army, Fort Gillem, Georgia.
2005- General Honoré was appointed by President Bush to command Task Force Katrina
Poor management by FEMA resulted in a complete breakdown of protection by local Police and Sheriff personnel. Armed military personnel were needed to avoid a takeover by criminals. General Honore gained media celebrity status by strong leadership in a dire situation.
