A Heavy Machine Gunner, Bob was attached to a rifle company to support their advance on enemy positions. He used a 30 caliber gun to destroy enemy personnel and equipment, fighting under adverse weather and combat conditions in the Ardennes, Central Europe and the Rhineland.
