Regarding Conrad-Starbuck House. Excerpts from the National Register nomination:
The Conrad-Starbuck House is … a well-preserved, relatively intact, and rare example of the Italianate in Winston-Salem. It is the city's sole surviving example of an Italianate-style brick residence and is one of an handful of large and stylish houses remaining along South Cherry Street in a once-fashionable neighborhood, which was occupied by prominent late nineteenth-century residents.
