51st Signal Battalion, 35th Signal Brigade
A lineman, Peter deployed to North Africa with the battalion in 1943 for later staging and participation in the invasion of Sicily. Once secured, the battalion left for the mainland in Italy, lighting In three campaigns including Naples-Foggia, Rome-Amo, North Apennines, and the Po Valley. The battalion received the Meritorious Unit Commendation for service in Europe.
