While on active duty stationed in Norfolk during the war, Glen served as a Disbursing Officer, ensuring the men and women attached to the ships and units he was responsible for received the pay and benefits they were entitled. He also served in Guadalcanal, Fiji and New Zealand.

Honorably Discharged 11 January 1956
