Specialist Four, U. S. Army - Vietnam

Although discharged from Company B. 75th Engineer Battalion, Ist US Army at Ft. George M. Meade, Keith, a power generation equipment operator and mechanic, served in Vietnam. During his tour in-country, he fought the battle at Cu Chi Airfield during the Tet Offensive that included a sapper attack destroying nine CH-47A Chinook helicopters, the rearm point, and hit the base air control tower with RPG's and small arms fire - a diversion keeping the 25th Infantry Division occupied while the North Vietnamese enemy forces slipped past toward Saigon.
