A Combat Medic or Corpsman, and "Doc" to his fellow soldiers, Bill was responsible for their health and welfare in garrison and the emergency treatment and care of their wounds in the field during combat operations... including Stopping or controlling bleeding, maintaining airways, starting IV's, dressing of wounds, and preparing them for evacuation to a field hospital for a higher level of care.
