A Personal Records Clerk, James was one of the last men to be drafted from Delaware County to serve during the Vietnam conflict. He served with a sense of duty and commitment and his commanding officer wrote that “Jim was a valued member of the staff whose cool headedness in handling senior officers was welcome.” Also that “his diligent application of sound judgment in understanding personnel problems was a testament to his ability and technical expertise."
