1. Valencia Theater Marker
Inscription. Designed by theater architect John Eberson and opened in 1929, the former Loew's Valencia Theater is the largest and most famous remaining movie palace building in Queens. The Valencia was the first of five "Wonder Theaters" built for Loew's New York chain of movie theaters. Eberson created an extravagantly ornamented brick and terra cotta facade using elements from Spanish and Mexican architecture of the Baroque period. Since 1977, this building has serve as the church sanctuary for the Tabernacle of Prayer for All People.
