Regarding 25,000th Convenience Store. 7-Eleven celebrated the opening of its 25,000th store on July 9, 2003, with free samples handed out by tuxedoed waiters, a string quartet, a ribbon cutting with the company CEO and the local alderman, and a donation to a local nonprofit.

As of 2021, the company had more than 78,000 stores worldwide, including more than 13,000 in the United States and Canada.
