Inscription. Nearby was the site of the Fleetwood Hotel, a 14-story edifice begun in 1925 and never completed. A grandiose dream and victim of the severe real estate downturn that began in 1926, the steel skeleton's ghostly frame stood for a number of years as a reminder of the 1925 and early 1926 local land boom and ensuing crash until it was finally demolished and sold for scrap in 1935-1936.

Erected 2010 by Laurel Park Civic Association.
