Whereas; Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He was the seventh of nine children and is recognized as one of Gary's favorite sons, and

Whereas; Michael Jackson was an American recording artist, world's greatest entertainer, businessman and humanitarian, whose unique contributions to popular music and dance, along with his highly publicized personal life, made him a central part of popular culture for four decades; and

Whereas; Michael Jackson, one of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his achievements included multiple Guiness World Records-including the "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time” - 13 Grammy Awards. 18 number one singles in his solo career, and the sale of over 750 million records worldwide.
