Heinrick Nouten was de eerst bekende eigenaar in 1458. In 1650 koop door Bernhardt Burcht, kamerling van Prins Willem II. In 1706 werd Jacob de Mercado eigenaar die als provenditeur het Staatse leger in de Spaanse Successicoorlog voorzag van proviand. In 1760 eigendom van ridder Johan Ulrich Roselius, majoor en kapitein In 1873 koop door Petrus Nieuwerkerk, banketbakker en confiseur die de voorgevels van nummers 92 en 94 liet afbreken en herbouwen in eclectische stijl. Achter beide panden verrezen werkplaatsen ter vervaardiging van bonbons, chocolade, suikerwerken, confituren en Haagse Hopjes. Pionier der heilgymnastiek Jacob Milo voerde hier in 1895-1898 zijn praktijk. Van 1922 tot 1930 woning van kunsthistoricus Dr Cornelis Hofstede de Groot, wiens aan het Rijk geschonken kunstverzameling de grondslag vormde van het Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie.

Heinrick Nouten was the first known owner in 1458. Purchased in 1650 by Bernhardt Burcht, chamberlain of Prince Willem II. In 1706, Jacob de Mercado became the owner and, as a supplier, provided the Dutch army with provisions during the Spanish Succession War. In 1760 owned by knight Johan Ulrich Roselius, major and captain. In 1873 purchased by Petrus Nieuwerkerk, pastry chef and confectioner who had the facades of numbers 92 and 94 demolished and rebuilt in eclectic style. Workshops were built behind both buildings for the production of chocolates, confectionery, jams and “Haagse Hopjes” (little coffee/caramel sweets). Pioneer of rehabilitation gymnastics Jacob Milo practiced here from 1895 to 1898. From 1922 to 1930 it was the home of art historian Dr Cornelis Hofstede de Groot, whose art collection was donated to the government and formed the basis of the National Office for Art Historical Documentation.
