Inscription. The Corydon State Bank opened in March 1922 following the failure of the Corydon National Bank. The bank was granted its charter with an authorized capital of $50,000. Prior to the bank opening, there was a harness shop and grocery at this location. In 1962, the State Bank expanded into the Brown Building which had previously been a restaurant and an automotive parts business. In 1980, land adjoining Oak Street behind the bank was acquired for customer parking. In 1986, Liberty National Bancorp acquired the bank but it was later acquired by Bank One. In 2004 it became a JP Morgan Chase bank, which closed this branch in 2016.
