Old Capital Restaurant Building. . This building was constructed in October 1926 for the Old Capital Restaurant which was operated by Tom Brandenburg (1888-1957) and his sister, Miss Dora Hull (1878-1966). In May of 1945, Herbert Habermel bought the building and opened a drug store. Seven years later, in 1952, William H. (Blackie) Butt established a drug store at this location. In addition to operating a pharmacy, Butt's store included a soda fountain and ice cream parlor. Their most popular item was a broiled hamburger known as a "Buttburger." Butt's moved to their current location next door in 1973., J.R.'s Western Shop located here in the 1980s. People's Trust Bank was established here in 1994 before moving to Highway 135 just west of town in August of 1996. People's Trust became Community First Bank in 2001 and First Savings Bank in 2009. Harrison County Arts opened the Artisan Center here in September of 2011 and it remained here until it moved two doors east to the Linder Building in the summer of 2016.
