1. J. J. Bulleit Building Marker
Inscription. J.J. Bulleit (1844-1926) built this large two-story brick building in 1912 and operated his hardware store here for several years. The spacious second floor contained three offices on the west end, with most of the floor used for recreational activities like dancing, skating and basketball. Next, Sam Miller's Grocery located here until Lamon & Davis Hardware opened in 1945. Cavers stopped in to buy supplies and to swap caving stories with Lewis Lamon (1905-1990), a well-known spelunker. His business partner, Robert S. Davis (1903-1989) of Ramsey, was well-known as the operator of one of the world's largest chicken hatchery businesses. The hardware store closed in February 1979.

In the summer of 1979, Darrell Conrad opened a Sears Catalog Store on the west end of the building. The catalogue store later transitioned into the furniture and appliance business. Various businesses, including the Bookworm used book store, operated in the building's east end until Main Street Corydon purchased the property in 2015.
