3. Wester Suikerraffinaderij on the Van Noordtkade in Amsterdam
Wester Suikerraffinaderij on the Van Noordtkade in Amsterdam. This sugar refinery a.k.a. Wester Sugar Refinery or W.S.R. started by processing raw sugar from sugar cane, but later switched to refining raw beet sugar.

Although difficult to pinpoint exactly, the site of the portal and marker in this picture would be on the canal, roughly even with the second peaked roof from the left. The factory site is now occupied by apartment houses.
