Sandy Hollow Heritage Park and Birmingham Hill are preserved open spaces that allow public access to a portion of the Brandywine Battlefield National Historic Landmark. The most intense fighting of the Battle of Brandywine took place here at Sandy Hollow on September 11, 1777.
