Regarding First Baptist Church of Rivera. The church was founded on May 27, 1888 at the southeast corner of Rosemead Boulevard and Slauson Avenue. It was moved to its current location on Burke Street at Serapis Avenue in 1916.
The new larger church was built next door in 1952.
The church bell still sits in the tower in the front of the church, although it fell during the Whittier Narrows earthquake in 1987. The bell was replaced in the tower.
