1. Riley Chapel UMC Marker

Inscription. Riley Chapel, located in the Handsboro community, was founded in 1869 as the Methodist Episcopal Church (Colored). In 1907. a wood-framed church was built with a bell, wooden pews, and stained-glass windows. The property also included a parsonage next to the church. The congregation built a new brick church in 1960 and renamed it Riley Chapel United Methodist Church in honor of the first pastor.

Erected 2021 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
