Inscription. The lore of Lexington Market has always loomed almost as large as its public market prowess. From myths of catacombs under the old West Market (really tunnels used by butchers and produce vendors for cold storage before modern refrigeration), to the infamous bar and supposed speakeasy Tubb's, to rumors of illegal whiskey distilleries utilizing the tunnels during Prohibition times—Lexington's past isn't checkered, just long!
