The Eagle Protecting Her Chicks was chosen by the Odessa American Legion as the focal point of the Schuyler County Veterans Memorial

It pays tribute to our service men and women past and present and represents freedom, strength and courage.

Symbolically, the Eagle protects freedom of all Americans just as our service men and women have done throughout our history. It represents the strength and courage of our armed forces who daily defend our nation.   2006
